Blade and Sorcery - Dalgarian Dungeon

In June 2024, after years of early access, and to much fanfare and anticipation, Warpfrog released Blade and Sorcery 1.0. I was heavily involved in this release as Lead 3D Environment Artist, heading up a team of artists, collaborating with other department leads, technical art oversight, lighting, and much hands-on work. An entire new dungeon was added, the Dalgarian Dungeon, made up of 37 unique interlocking scenes. In addition to this, nearly every environment in the game received a major overhaul graphically, with dramatic enhancements to visual quality and optimization, along with level design improvements. Project-wide technical components like shaders and art tooling were remade to a tighter standard.

Here you can see our work on the Dalgarian Dungeon. My hands-on contributions in these environments include asset creation for all the rocks and cliffs that you see, as well as lighting and textures throughout. I also was responsible for the foliage assets, including the ivy, which were particularly complex assets to create due to requiring a high degree of visual fidelity in VR while also being optimized for use in huge quantities.
